Guitars are pretty hardy. Solid body electrics generally have a very thick finish on them and can take a lot of abuse. Even acoustic guitars, made of very thin pieces of heavily contorted wood, are surprisingly sturdy. ---

Regarding the “daylight time” poll. I said “no,” but am uncomfortable with the "I’m not stupid part. I don’t specify daylight time, because I never know what part of the year is “daylight saving” and what part is “normal” time. So, all year I’ll just say “10:00 a.m. Pacific time” and assume everyone’s on the same page. ---

Re: dreams. I generally enjoy my dreams (and rarely have nightmares), but it’s very rare for me to be able to remember anything about a dream for more than a few moments after I wake up. ---

My dreams are not particularly interesting. Usually things going wrong at work. Sometimes being back at school, and unprepared for a test or a term paper. I don’t inflict my dreams on the people around me. I am utterly uninterested in hearing about other people’s dreams. ---

I don’t inflict my dreams on others, but I find them entertaining. I also like to figure out what parts of my day fed into specific parts of my dream that night. ---

I have been having this dream once or twice a month, in which I have been keeping a stash of valuable coins that I found in a treehouse built by kids. I stole them, and have been keeping them in a round metal cookie tin in the back of my closet for years. Nobody knows I have them. Usually when I have the dream, I just look at them and gloat. But last time I had the dream, I felt guilty and resolved to return them if I could. I found the tree, and the treehouse, but wasn’t sure if I should just climb up into it in the middle of the night and leave the coins there, or tell the owner of the house (who may not be the same owner as when I took the coins years ago), and hope they can help me get them back to the rightful owner. Then the dream ended. I wonder what will happen next time. But no, I never tell anyone my dreams - that would be annoying… ---

I’ve had both dreams that have woken me with my own laughter and dreams where I awaken sweaty and scared. Right now, when I’m stressed, I get more of the latter and I hate it. It’s been awhile since I woke myself laughing. Hopefully I will do so and soon. Daylight Savings Time. Generally I don’t specify unless we are in that weird period in March and October when different countries change on different dates. I try to be more specific then because I have had to deal with those details in the past. ---

I generally don’t specify DSL or standard so long as I’m expecting everybody to be on the same time, though I might mention the changeover if it’s only shortly afterwards. But I’m not going to mention time zone in those cases, either. But if I were dealing with a group of people who weren’t all on the same time, I’d specify EST or EDT or whatever. Didn’t vote. ---

Here’s my version of the “anxiety dream” mentioned in the other thread, that prompted the dream poll, that prompted the dream discussion in this thread: I’m at the airport. I have lost my boarding pass, and I can’t remember what flight I’m supposed to be on, or even what city I’m flying to. But I somehow know that if I don’t figure it out soon I’m going to miss my flight. I’m desperately looking for someone who can help me, but there are no airline employees to be found anywhere. ---

My reason for creating the poll was to commiserate with others who find dreams to be a pain in the ass. Looks like, so far, I am in a club of one. I don’t have nightmares, but anxiety dreams as mentioned previously. Being late for a class, unable to find where I parked my car, that sort of scenario. I wake up from them irritated. mmm ---

Fortunately, most of my dreams are pleasant or even fun. I never share them unless I really think it will amuse someone. Flakebook reminded me of this one: I dreamed I was eating a bowl of soup made of superfoods, and a mouse fell into the soup. It pulled itself out of the soup, waved a teeny tiny shiv and said “More!” ---

I never mention daylight/standard time except right around when we change. Everyone i make meetings with in is the US, and changes at the same time (or doesn’t) and i trust each person to know how many hours they are off from me more than i trust myself to get daylight/standard right. ---
