Maybe it means tipping _over_ a vending machine, or tipping it back and forth to free up a purchased item? ---

In our barracks in Germany many decades ago there was one slot for beer. We learned that if you paid once then rocked the machine while hitting the botton all the beers would come out one by one. Good times. As for last night/this morning I said 4am. The real answer is last night was before I went to bed, this morning is after I got up. ---

I’ve got a lot of military service dogs around my office. No cats yet, though it is a library so there’s long-shot potential. And we definitely have mice, they wouldn’t be un-useful. ---

Monitor lizards…oh yes. I’d like that in more ways than one. I would love to be an accountant, reading the balance sheets and typing up the assets, liabilities and depreciation while a menacing 30-inch long lizard from Cambodia is perched atop my curved Samsung monitor screen, checking to see if my net present value calculations are correct ---

Fried eggs: I picked “Over easy” but I usually like my eggs “pan-scrambled,” which is essentially just “over hard” all cut up. If I cook an egg over easy, it’s going on top of a bowl of rice with a dollop of oyster sauce. ---

The cutoff line between ‘last night’ and ‘this morning’ depends on the context. I lean towards ‘when I get up’, which varies considerably in clock time, but that’s not always the deciding factor. I don’t think it’s possible to housebreak either monitor lizards or screech owls, so I wouldn’t want them running all over the office. If I’m wrong about that and the individual creatures will be housebroken, I’m OK with it if they don’t frighten the cats. I don’t care what breed the cats are. I think a number of breeds of dog would work OK, and that Labradors are one of those breeds. I do think it’s rather odd that whoever’s running this workplace wants to restrict it to those specific breeds, but wouldn’t turn the whole thing down on those grounds. I don’t think of bagels as pastry. I’m aware that there are things called bagels that are very like pastries, but I don’t think that they’re really bagels. I would want a nice office, but not one with a bed in it; that implies to me that I’d be supposed to spend all my time in the office, and wouldn’t get to go home and sleep there. (The laundry room/gym business seems to me to imply the same thing, though a decent cafeteria would be good.) Also, I wouldn’t consider it a nice office unless it had at least one large window in it. ---

While a dog or a cat might occasionally poop in the office, there is little to no chance they will do so _on my head_. No birds, please. ---

I’m a little worried about the cats chewing on the cables, or knocking my things to the ground. On the other hand, I work from home, and I do welcome the cat into my “office”, so I guess I like having her here. I agree that I don’t want screech owls hacking up pellets on my desk, or pooping on my chair. I assume the cats and dogs are trained, and will do their business in appropriate places. ---

And this. I care a lot about nice office space. But to me, that means a spacious desk, a comfortable chair, a window, and storage next to the desk. Maybe some sound isolation from other employees. I’ve never had a bed in my office (well, except when I worked in the office nook of my bedroom) and I’d prefer it not have a bed, honestly. None of the implications of a bed in the office seem good. ---
