I prefer to have both the moral high ground **and** to be victorious. Otherwise I would need a lot more information before choosing one or the other. ---

While I agree that in the best of all worlds, to have both the moral high ground and win, I accept that in the real world I may not have that luxury. Thus, on any topic _important_ enough for me to need to win AND worry about morality, I’ll take the “win”. Being a semi-moral person, I can then use the results of the winning, from the smallest scale (unlikely to be important, but what have you) to the largest (politics) and compensate for my guilt by striving to do what’s best and to compensate for any moral failings to the other party within reason. ---

What am I losing and winning? $2? Who has to do the dishes? My best friend’s life? And what sort of moral high ground? Stealing $2? I would LOVE that. Do you need my address for delivery? I will cuddle / play with ANY mammal I can (i.e. not if it won’t let me / will hurt me / will be harmed), barring humans, where I am slightly more selective. ---

I picked kittens; but puppies are a close second. I’ve never gotten to know a ferret well, but presuming that the kits are socialized to humans I’d be quite willing to play with them also. How about we get to play with a mix of kittens, puppies, and ferret kits, all of them also playing with each other? ---

As for anchovies… Neither “nothing special” nor “i like them and have it all the time” works. It’s … definitely special. And sometimes I’m in the mood for that kind of special, and even have anchovies as an option. Most of the time at least one of those is false. Most of the places around here don’t do anchovies, and anyway, my husband won’t eat them. And even if they are available, I’m not always in the mood. But “nothing special”? That is such a wrong description of anchovies on pizza. ---

Here’s the quote that inspired the anchovies poll, from a NYT article, “How Kamala Harris took Command of the Democratic Party in 48 Hours”: “On Sunday at the Naval Observatory, her team had worked into the night, ordering pizza and salad from Andy’s, a local Washington, D.C., chain, with anchovies on the vice president’s pizza.” It was a great article, but this little detail really had me cheering. I’ve heard too many anchovy haters putting down an ingredient that’s been loved for millenia. Somewhere I have a recipe for lamb with rosemary and anchovies, supposedly inspired by the ancient Romans. And @puzzlegal the choice I gave was “Yummy! Delicious! I’ve eaten it many times” and not “I have it all the time”. Yes, I’m an anchovy lover, but I don’t have it all the time and agree there are other good pizza choices out there. ---

I don’t like anchovies enough to say, “Yummy! Delicious! I’ve eaten it many times”. But i sometimes enjoy them, and never would say “meh”. I guess i think they are polarizing even for my own tastes, in that i sometimes like them and sometimes really don’t want something that forward. And I’ve only had them a couple of times, because i almost never have the option. ---

Anchovies? _Fantastic_ on caesar salad. I sorta like them on pizza- if a friend orders a "chovy pizza I will offer to trade slices. But one slice is all i want. FYI- do not ever EVER order a half "chovy and anything else pizza. Both halves will taste of anchovies. I dont look down upon “chovy pizza eaters like I do hawaiian pizza. Pineapple does not belong on pizza. In fact i sorta admire” chovy pizza eaters. ---

I’m not sure I’ve ever even _seen_ anchovies on pizza. For all I know, the idea could be an urban legend. Yeah, I bet if I looked, it wouldn’t be hard to find a place that offers anchovy pizza. But I have no motivation to do so. ---
