I picked “pie” in the game. My thinking was that pie is usually among the most popular picks in polls, but since the goal of this poll was to pick something with the least votes in this poll people probably _didn’t_ pick pie. Therefore I _should_ pick pie. It seemed to work; it looked like I was only the second vote for pie (and everything had at least one vote by the time I voted). ---

I was fortunate to have seen B.B. King many times during his career, including his final show in Pittsburgh that was one of his last. For some reason every single time I saw him, something crazy happened, making the night extra memorable. At that final show in Pittsburgh I saw a woman I knew in the first row. I went up to talk with her and her crazy dad (it was 90 degrees and he was decked out in full camo gear, an army coat, and sunglasses) was smoking a joint. A cop approached him and politely requested he put out his “cigarette”, as it was a no-smoking venue. He told the cop to go fuck himself. He was arrested and his daughter had to leave to take care of his paperwork. I got their seats!!! ---

Is it really a Ceasar salad if the dressing isn’t made with anchovy paste? That’s like making a Bolognese sauce without meat and tomatoes. ---

I took the poll to mean whole anchovies placed on the salad (which I wasn’t sure is a thing, but I could imagine it being done) not anchovies in the dressing. If it’s actually referring to using them as an ingredient in the dressing I’ll have to change my vote. ---

For the Buck poll, I picked Starbuck (Battlestar Galactica) but internally with a proviso of 1978-80 version (Dirk Benedict) - while the modern BSG is … fine … I’m not emotionally attached to the reboot character in any way. ---

I can’t believe Scooby Doo was ever popular. I was around and young when it hit the airwaves, and even for a TV cartoon it was unwatchable. I thought Yakky Doodle proved that Hanna Barbera had run out of steam and could never be worse, but I was wrong. (Actual most egregious omission: Popeye) ---
