I wore a beard for a couple of years during COVID; when it was safe to get back to getting my hair cut, my hairstylist would trim and clean up my beard with a trimmer. I shaved the beard off about a year ago, but kept the sideburns, and she now does the same for those. ---

I was thinking clippers and razor type stuff. I believe electroysis would be handled by an aesthetician (spelling?). ---

I leave it to your judgment of course. I’m a bit surprised at how many responded yes to the barber facial hair question. I’ve only done it a few times and the first time was last year. ---

Facial hair does not flatter me. Have you ever seen a ratty old wire brush, that had been sitting in the bottom of your grandfather’s toolbox for 40 years? That’s what my beard looks like. I once tried a mustache. I looked like Gomez Addams. Not the dashing Raul Julia version. The goofy John Astin version. I prefer to stay clean-shaven. ---

A few years ago I had a medical issue that affected my arm. I found out a can’t shave lefty. I had my barber do it. It was just once. ---

I haven’t been in a barbershop/salon in over 20 years. But even back when I did and had a full beard, they didn’t touch it. ---

What is weird is that - other than Carter- they have been no bad Dem Presidents in that poll, and only one Decent one G.H.W\> Bush. And even Carter wasnt horrible. Just out of his depth. The Media elected him over Scoop Jackson, and look what they got. ---

Bush Sr. was the only good Republican president on that list. He deserved a second term. Bill Clinton did the best job economically, but he let the military decay while Obama kept it decently strong. ---

Siegbert Tarrasch really, really hated Aron Nimzowitsch. I was reading through an annotation the other day of a game that Tarrasch won, and the authors noted that “Black could’ve mated more quickly…perhaps Tarrasch overlooked it, but in view of the personal animosity between the two players, it is also possible that he preferred the humiliating game continuation out of sadism.” ---

What if the dog has no registered name? Many of them, including most of the ones I’ve known, don’t. I’m going to checkmate as fast as I can, if I can; but that’s the same thing I’d do with an opponent I was good friends with. Didn’t vote. I’d have to research some of those places before deciding. It’s close to midnight and I’m not going to do that now. Might or might not do it tomorrow. ---

I can play chess, but experience suggests I can’t checkmate anyone before being checkmated myself, so I picked “other.” For the never-again state, Arkansas. Nothing against it, just one I’m unlikely to need geographically or culturally. ---

I’ve had a beard of some sort for 50 years now. At one point it reached my belt, as did my ponytail (I got ZZ Top comments). Now I go to a barber for trims, but I let it go far too long between cuts. (I get Santa comments). Our dog Kizzy is registered with the AKC as a mixed breed dog, so that she can compete in AKC sanctioned agility trials. Her registered name is **Kizzy of Elwood**. Our dog adopted in St Martin, Simi, is going to start agility competitions soon, so we are going to register him as **Simpson of Elwood**.
