Our town offers zero in the way of recycling or composting. We compost our horse and chicken manure along with everything else compostable. In NOLA we play along with the guys guessing where we gots our shoes and offer to buy them some drinks/food. Fun times hanging with them and chatting. ---

Probably most people don’t have your patience, so he generically recommends “no eggshells.” ---

Egg shells go in the drain strainer until I’m done then they go into the trash. No composting options here. My trash and recycling gets picked up by a private company. The company is paid out of our HOA fees. ---

I am relieved to see that, at least so far and in this very small sample of the total population, nobody has actually poked their eardrum out with a Qtip (or equivalent); despite my being not the only one who gets their earwax out that way. ---

My ears itch, so i scratch them with a Q tip, but not so far as to touch the eardrum. ---

I use qtips, usually after showering because the wax in my ear is runny. Now, to freak out the doctors in this group, I use a bobby pin to scratch and clean out the itchy wax. I am very careful, and only go as far as the itch, then pull the bobby pin out only. ---

I use an ear syringe, like [these things](https://www.amazon.com/ETTSNU-Syringes-Irrigation-Penta-Stream-Tri-Stream/dp/B0DFGWZZPG). They squirt to the side rather than straight forward, so you don’t even risk damaging your eardrum with a forceful stream of water. I would never stick a Q-tip or (shudder) a piece of metal in my ear. Besides the risk of damaging tissue, it seems like poking things in there is just going to pack the wax in, not remove it. ---

I wash my outer ears with soap and water like my pediatrician told me to do when I was little. I don’t get much earwax. ---
