Same. I get a cake with candles every year. Most years we do the age in base two (two colors of candles) but when i turned 60 my husband put 61 candles on the cake and made me blow them all out šŸ˜€ ---

Depends on the party. Itā€™s not like we go to a lot of parties. Usually relatively small affairs where it would be easy to say goodbye to everyone. On the rare occasion itā€™s a big party maybe Iā€™ll seek out the host. ---

Exactly _what_ is best for the American people is up for argument. Trump would argue that _he_ is whatā€™s best for the American people, and as he cares only about himself, I selected ā€œ10ā€ for this poll. ---

Voted ā€˜depends on the partyā€™; but unless something went seriously wrong at the party, Iā€™m going to at least say goodbye to the host(s); though if theyā€™re deep in conversation with somebody else I might settle for catching their eye and waving (at which point they can decide whether to break off the conversation and say goodbye to me). Whether Iā€™m going to also say goodbye to anyone or possibly everyone else, and how long Iā€™m going to spend doing it, is going to vary. ---

I mean, yeah, you can absolutely interpret it that way, but I tend to think itā€™s against the intent of the poll. Not that Iā€™m the boss of you, the poll poster, or anyone else. Especially not my cats. ---

Definitely depends on the party. If itā€™s a huge party (maybe a big wedding) i just leave. If itā€™s a small gathering, maybe Thanksgiving dinner with my brother and sister and their spice, Iā€™ll say goodbye to everyone. In between, Iā€™m with thorny\_locust, and make an attempt to thank the host on my way out. ---

On the swimming question, Iā€™m halfway between ā€œitā€™ll be diceyā€ and ā€œIā€™m screwedā€. I have myasthenia gravis, so I might not have enough steam to make it, but I know the dea manā€™s float and how to conserve energyā€¦ ---

I float. The advantage of some subcutaneous fat. Swimming is easier than when i was a kid. And Iā€™m even more buoyant in the ocean than in fresh water. I could lie on my back with my nose above the water for a very long time in ideal conditions. Iā€™ve swum a mile. Wearing flippers. In a lake. Could i swim a mile in the open ocean, with waves, without flippers? I guess if my life depended on it, and the weather was okay, and hypothermia wasnā€™t a problem i probably couldā€¦ I said it would be dicey. ---

I forgot about that factor! Yeah, Iā€™m gonna float pretty easily (fat is not as dense as water. Muscle is denser. Guess which I have more of šŸ¤” ) My first husband had almost no body fat. He sank like a stone in water ---

Just to tread water Iā€™m using about the same energy I would to swim. That along with my declining stamina with age means Iā€™m done pretty quickly.
