I can only name the ones with jingles. I get melodies and jingles stuck in my head much more firmly than words or pictures. ---

When my mom died her will was very informal. She had some nice jewelry that she wanted my daughter to have, pictures and keepsakes she set aside for my sister, etc. We transferred her car title to my sister’s son’s wife (she was my mom’s driver). When we went to divide up the cash, my brother suggested a college fund for my sister’s two grandkids. Timing was perfect. The balance has increased, and if the kids eschew college (they won’t) we get the dough. ---

The first eleven years I smoked, I was one of those unthinking jerks who tossed the cigarette butt. One day, I was sitting at a red light and noticed all the cigarette butts on the ground. After that, I would squeeze out the cherry and any remaining tobacco, stomp out the ember, and deposit the rest in a little fireproof pouch I had. ---

I smoked a few cigarettes and cigarillos socially in my youth _(maybe_ the equivalent of two packs over a couple of decades, all very high quality fancy-ass smokes). I did not throw the butts on the ground. ---

I dont smoke, but I noticed that _every single smoker_ I knew, casually tossed the butts- except my Dad and a couple of military guys who would “field strip” the butts. My Dad gave up ciggies after a stern talking to by his Doc, and swtiched to a pipe. ---

I used to smoke and I mostly picked up after myself. I’m not going to pretend it was 100%. I also spent a lot of my life in the Army. Field stripping a butt meant taking off the red part and putting the filter in your pocket until you got to a garbage can. I wasn’t in the Army during WWII so everyone smoked filtered cigarettes. ---

Plain tobacco, no additives) without filters because they say cigarette filters contain fiberglass. Another twenty something dude rolls his own because tobacco in commercial cigarettes is sprayed with carcinogens. Three guys who do not know each other, never met. Really stupid, but harmless. ---

By the time I got to listening to Taylor Swift, I had stopped reading along or even looking at the album, so I can identify a lot of her songs at the first notes, and sing along with some, but damned if I know their names. Pretty sure I can name 10 Clash songs from a single album. 🙂 ---

I am astounded that, as of now, virtually half of the respondents cannot name a single Hank Williams song. I know, I know, we all have our areas of knowledge. Please just let me be astounded. mmm ---
