Re: Amazon, it would be a major inconvenience for me. There are a few things I buy there that I just can’t get locally. Namely, cardboard refills for my cat’s scratcher, which seems to be the only one he’ll use, so I can’t just switch to another one. The local pet supply store used to carry them, but no longer do. Amazon now seems to be the only place I can get them. Also, replacement filters for my air purifier. Admittedly, that’s because I bought one of those off-brand Chinese ones that’s only sold through Amazon (It was during those wildfires in California a few years ago and that was the only model available to ship reasonably soon. Although in hindsight I think that shipping date was a lie, because the delivery was delayed after I ordered it). But anyway, now I’ve got it, and replacement filters for this model are only available through Amazon. ---

I buy one or two things on Amazon a year, and could easily find them elsewhere. My wife, on the other hand, is probably their top customer. ---

With $100 million I’d never have to be _anyplace_ cold, so hot beverages can vanish from my life and I’d never miss them a bit. I don’t drink coffee, prefer iced tea over hot and cocoa I can do without easily. Gimme that nice cold beer, genie! ---

Cold beverages for sure. I can switch from hot coffee to cold brew, I can’t switch from cold beer to hot beer. ---

The genie approached, it’s grin a perfect crescent of evil, with eyes nearly shut in gleeful anticipation of making another victim. Each step full of confidence, as it savored the despair to come. Though numbers beyond count had fallen to it’s tainted traps, the game never grew old for this being. Until the slightest resistance, as if brushing a cobweb drew it’s attention… briefly. To be replaced a microsecond later by overwhelming pain, as 4 Claymore-Style Anti-Genie Personnel Traps detonated in a near perfect encirclement. Thousands of individual beads, blessed by every single faith including the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the most blessed of Stoics and Rationalists obliterated the semi-flesh of the genie, alternately damning it to the various hells or obliterating it from existence with the power of rationality. Desperately, it turned to it’s intended victim, hoping to secure just one more iota of identity, to continue it’s cursed existence, and bring about more dashed hopes. Only to see a smirk precisely mirroring it’s own from moments earlier. And thus the genie passed, to a thousand times a thousand individual hells and non-existence, and the world was made a fraction more safe for those whose morality and rationality had been challenged on countless occasions. ---

I’ve owned two cats in my life. The first loved me and I’d be completely safe if he were momentarily turned into a lion. The second tolerated me but often had a bad attitude, so it’s entirely possible I’d be sliced and diced while that one was transformed. Losing Amazon would be a big inconvenience but I suppose I could make other arrangements if I had to. I’ve rarely earned enough frequent-flyer miles to do anything with them. I can drink cold beverages year-round, but I’d never want to drink hot ones in the summer. Blecccch. I’ll take that $100 million, though. More than worth it. My favorite pizza toppings are actually pepperoni and pineapple; a college friend introduced me to it. I love the umami-and-sweet combination. Yes, I am aware that there are those who consider it an abomination. Relax. No one’s forcing you to eat it, and unlike Trump it’s never going to threaten American democracy or make our allies hate us. ---

I have a hot tea in the morning. Occasionally I’ll have hot chocolate in the winter. It would not be a hardship to give either up. I have earned frequent flyer miles. I don’t fly often enough for them to do me any good. ---

I wouldn’t eat it on pizza for that reason alone. If you like the combination of flavors have you ever tried hot honey (honey infused with chilis). I would never think of buying it but I was at someone’s house and one of the pizzas they got was pepperoni with a drizzle of hot honey. It was amazing. ---

I don’t particularly want to eat pineapple pizza; but its mere existence doesn’t bother me any. And even if I did have to eat it – the extent of its badness for me would be its messing up a meal. It’s not likely to kill me, or to kill anybody else. I still don’t know whether the hot-or-cold drinks genie thinks that soup is a beverage. If not, this is a no-brainer for cold. ---
