My folks said they had two choices, sleep in the car and eat well, or sleep in a hotel and eat lightly. They chose the latter. And they had never heard of Pink Floyd.

I rented a hammer and chisel, and bright home my own pieces of the wall. I have part of it to a Russian immigrant friend.

I also visited St Petersburg as a tourist. Had a good time, but was mindful of being in a hostile country. I wouldn’t go to North Korea.

What is the definition of an “unfriendly country” and what is the time frame? Currently, both Canada and Mexico are pretty unfriendly. I’ve been to both. Germany is friendly now, but was unfriendly in 1944.

Like I said in the poll, use your own judgement, but generally a country that your home country considers an enemy in some way.

Whenever you visited them. If you lived in America and visited Germany in 1944, it would count. If you visited Germany last year it would not.

We slept in the car next to the Reichstag. The concert was the next day. I don’t remember what we ate if anything. I could tolerate a lot more in my early 20s.

It wasn’t Pink Floyd. It was Roger Waters along with many guests.

> The Wall – Live in Berlin was a live concert performance by Roger Waters and numerous guest artists, of the Pink Floyd studio album The Wall, itself largely written by Waters during his time with the band. The show was held in Berlin on 21 July 1990, to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall eight months earlier. A live album of the concert was released in September 1990. A video of the concert was also commercially released.

I find watching baseball booooooooring. Going to a game is for drinking beer and eating hot dogs. But I _love_ baseball movies. Weird.

When I attend a game I keep score to keep my mind from drifting, and eat a Polish dog.

The movies distill the best parts of baseball. When I watch For _Love of the Game_ I skip all the boyfriend/girlfriend parts.

I own two cats, but they aren’t _consistently_ well behaved. However, cat secundus MUST sleep with it’s mother or there will be endless shrieks of mighty despair. Cat primus wants to sleep on the electric blanket, but otherwise is bed-neutral.

The cats are allowed to sleep on the bed, and for cat secundus, against or on top of it’s mother. For me, adjacent is fine, although both want to sleep between my spread legs if I’m on my back. Which is acceptable until I need to roll over, which involves me moving them first, after which both are pretty good about getting back to sleep or flouncing away in superiority.

Every cat I’ve had the pleasure to have owned slept on top of the covers. Millie (short for Familiar - I like black cats) protested greatly when my oldest was born - to the point where we had to choose. We surrendered ger to a shelter. I sincerely hope she was adopted by an old man who had nothing to do, but sit and pet her all da6.

Twenty plus years later, I still feel bad.

Regarding sleeping with cats at night: I will nap during the day with my cat, he’s a good nap buddy and occasionally gives me a nice massage as I’m dozing off. But at night he’s confined to the far side of the house, as he loves to be up at 5 AM yowling outside the bedroom door (or yowling inside the bedroom, if he’s allowed in the room with us). So it’s a no go situation to have him overnight in our sleeping quarters.

I have shared beds with cats for nearly all of my 73 years; often with multiple cats. I often turn over in the night, but I have never squashed a cat, not even a half-grown kitten; nor even come close to it. (This has left me somewhat dubious that people who aren’t seriously drunk have accidentally overlain their babies; though I suppose that maybe a newborn human can’t produce some reaction that even a three or four month kitten does. I don’t notice an active reaction, though; it just doesn’t happen.)

I have, very rarely, accidentally pushed a cat off the bed. The results of this were a mildly annoyed cat, who returned to sleeping on the bed before too long.

Most cats don’t seem to want to get under the covers, but I’ve lived with a couple who did so routinely for part of the night.

The only cat I’ve had who liked to be under the covers was Havoc. Today’s clowder all prefer to sleep atop the covers: Caelan next to my head, Cheddar with her butt against my shoulders, Tango tucked behind my knees and Kami on top of my ankles.

Makes getting up to pee in the middle of the night an _adventure_!

The cats arrived with my wife. I could have said no but I’m not an asshole. The nice one died. There is an uneasy peace with the remaining one. The idea of being covered in animal hair while I sleep disgusts me. Especially disgusting clingy cat hair. The dog isn’t allowed in the bedroom and I like her. The cat certainly isn’t allowed.

The dog would probably love being in the bedroom but too many stairs for the old lady. She doesn’t even try.

There were estimated to be about 350,000 people at the concert.

When i had a newborn, i was hypersensitive to lumps and bumps in my bed, and would wake up panicked that I’d overlain my baby when the covers wrinkled. This despite the fact that the baby wasn’t in my bed, she was in a cradle several feet away.

I’m certain i could have safely shared a bed with my babies. But perhaps not everyone has the same instincts.

I don’t mind a cat under the blanket, but don’t want them on my pillow or lying across my ankles (I’m at higher risk of clots due to a medication and I’m not allowed to cross my legs, much less have a critter lying on them all night).
