I recognize the names of all of Tolkien’s dwarves when I see them, but I only remembered five, alas: Thorin, Ori, Dori, Kili and Fili. I only remembered Dopey and Grumpy among Disney’s. The biggest crowds I’ve ever been in were at Bill Clinton’s first inauguration in 1993 (a cold day on the Mall but an exciting event, and I laughed when I heard the Marine Band play Sousa’s “The Liberty Bell,” better known as the _Monty Python_ theme) and the outdoor celebration, near City Hall, of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2016 NBA Championship win (an enormous crowd, and there was a minute or so when I thought I really was at risk of being crushed, so I got out of there). I’ll take part in the buying boycott tomorrow, other than having lunch with some friends at a locally-owned restaurant, which I understand is “permitted.” If I had a DeLorean I would definitely have a _BTTF_-related plate. Love that movie! ---

I went shopping today. But I don’t live in the US, and it wasn’t online, so no Amazon. Unfortunately the big thing with BTTF was the 88, which is also my year of graduation. But that’s been taken over by white supremacists. 😿 My grandparents lost their farm due to Reganomics. They, or at least my grandfather, still voted Republican and would have probably voted for Trump if they were still alive. My uncle, their son, did vote for Trump. And his son might end up losing his job, because his son is paid by Medicaid/Medicare to take care of his parents. 😠 So I think a lot of Trump voters will still blame anybody but Trump. ---

When Bilbo and the dwarves stopped in Rivendell on their way to the Lonely Mountain in 2941, Aragorn was 10 years old and was living in Rivendell as Elrond’s ward. It seems plausible that he may have met them then, although I don’t believe such a meeting is mentioned in any canonical text. ---

It is not, although I remember in the leadup to the (very disappointing IMHO) _Hobbit_ movies, there was some speculation among Tolkien fans that perhaps a young Aragorn, er, Estel would make an appearance in the movie(s). ---

Showering: I’ve never showered on a vehicle (moving or not), nor standing out in the rain. But I did use my horses’ 100 gal, newly cleaned water trough for a quick non-soap bath when I had no water at the house for some reason. Can’t remember now if it was a power outage or a plumbing issue that required turning off the water. At any rate, the weather was warm, the tank was sparkling clean, and I needed to be a bit cleaner than I was. No houses or streets in line of sight and no visitors expected so I hopped in for a quick scrub and prayed we weren’t about to get a UPS delivery or something 'cuz I was in full uphill view from the driveway. ---

I have showered in a ship, I think there might be complaints if I didn’t on a 10 day cruise! I answered I have not showered in the rain but I scuba dive and sometimes use a hose or jerrycan of water to rinse the salt off my drysuit (while still wearing it), I can’t remember doing so while it was raining but it is possible. ---

I have showered in the rain several times, with and without thunder. It was to rinse the salt and sand off before getting under a canopy or sitting in the tent while waiting out the storm. I don’t understand the “You’d be out of your mind to do such a thing” response. Maybe people are thinking about leaving a house to go out in a storm. But I was camping on the beach so there wasn’t anywhere to go and not much else to do at the time. 🙂 ---
