I don’t want any black liquorice, but there’s no need jto ship it off planet. Just give it to the people who like it. And Friday for me isn’t the day before I’m off. It’s market harvest day, and Saturday is get up extra early for a long day of market, errands, and putting remaining produce away. ---

I could not answer the Nachos poll. Because “nachos” means two radically different things- Stale corn chips with fake cheese stuff poured over, then jalapenos. _Nasty._ OR Good tortilla chips, with real melted cheese and usually beans , with salsa, maybe gauc, sour Cheam, etc.- and yes- peppers. Maybe meat. _Delicious._ ---

Ummmm, isn’t that just a good and bad version of the same item? Like, the hamburgers i enjoy at home are very different from the hamburgers i refuse to eat at McDonald’s. ---

If you squint, maybe. Google tells me that _nduja_ spreadable, though similar in flavor to the French version of andouille. Not as close to the more familiar Cajun andouille. And I doubt you will be seeing the Italian name in any gumbo recipes any time soon 🙂 ---

I often thank the FSM (Flying Spaghetti Monster) it’s Friday. Because I want people to know that I made the effort to specify a silly god, rather than one of the _other_ silly gods when I feel snarky. I’m not always a nice person, I admit. I’m most likely to buy and/or make (historically) various green chile or habanero based sausages - I want something with a kick, but I’ll happily eat chorizo, good beer brats, or other meat-inna-tube option as long as it has good flavor and noticeable texture. Anything that’s over-emulsified goo with no snap when I bite through the skin is Right Out. I leaned hard into the “any” sort of outside and voted 7 days a week. Since I need to let my cats out onto our enclosed Catio daily, and normally _many_ times a day. Even when it’s covered in snow. ---

Whereas I’ll avoid any sausage that’s hot or has any red/green/hot pepper in it, but I’m okay with most of the other sausages. Still, i find i tend to prefer the fatty ones. Yes, i like breakfast links. Salt, fat, a bit of pork. Yum. ---

An aside on sausage, but these days when I want something custom to my taste, it’s soooo much easier to just buy a reasonably fatty (70/30 or 80/20) ground pork option, mix in whatever I want, and then form small patties to fry in a skillet. Yeah, I miss the “snap” of biting through the casing, but I know _exactly_ what went into them, which isn’t a minor issue when buying from the local megamart. ---
