For the Floyd song, I chose “ticking clock,” but upon further review I think it’s more like a metronome. So, perhaps “ambiguous,” but of course thematically it’s clear as day. ---

I guess we’ll give our daughter, who has just moved out, the old Honda Accord she’s been driving for years. And we’ll probably actually do the transaction around Christmas, so i decided to say yes, we’ll give her a car for Christmas. Although her real gift is a cookbook. Actually giving her the car (and the associated financial responsibility) is kind of an anti-gift. ---

I voted “other” for energy drinks and suds because I’m not certain enough about exactly what are considered “energy drinks” to have a strong opinion. I probably would have said a subset of sodas, but maybe they are more different than i realize. ---

For energy drinks, I picked the “overlap” option as being closest. But both terms are used so widely that “two different things” was just as valid. IMHO, _most_ of the time, because there are plenty of outliers, energy drinks are just sodas with various vitamins and unregulated (or less regulated) supplements added. So either answer works. * * * I voted for not getting the bonus sandwich, but that’s because of the specific food. If it was a fast casual restaurant that served other foods, then I might say yes. Chinese food, a mini-pizza (for the wife), or something else that IMHO reheated better, then it’s likely. But most sandwiches suffer poorly from being reheated even if carefully put away. On a related note, I just got a $10 voucher from a wonderful dumpling place in town for $1. The deal was for the $1 added to your order, you would get $10 off a meal anytime before New Years. We were planning on going again with an out of town guest that’ll be visiting so I saw no reason why not. And they do have careful limits on the amount purchased to qualify, and no more than a single voucher used per visit. ---

The magical genie sent it to you or something, and he guarantees its legitimacy. Or you you can pretend it’s a paper coupon that came in the mail addressed to “current resident” for all I care (I purposely didn’t describe it that was because I didn’t want “I’d give the coupon to someone else” to be an option). I didn’t know until now that the Dominican Republic has (had?) an overlapping “claim” with Puerto Rico. All current disputes between the DR and someone else are over marine exclusive economic zone boundaries - nothing land-based, other than a small coral islet (Mouchoir Bank), and that’s with the UK (Turks and Caicos). Yeah, the poll is misleading, the Dominican republic does not claim Puerto Rico, just some fishing rights and stuff. If you count Fishing rights and marine exclusive economic zone boundaries, nearly every seagoing nation has _some_ overlapping claim. ---

The poll could have included the area of the disputed Tennessee-Georgia border that makes Georgia about a mile shy of access to the Tennessee river. I haven’t been there, either, but I’ve been real close. 🙂 ---
