My maiden name is very unusual but it is one letter off from a common item and 2 letters off another common item. Those get used a lot. Almost never mispronounced though I never heard of anyone else having my first name until I was in HS. Mispronounced and misspelled all the time. It’s more common now, but it’s got a variant in both spelling and pronunciation. My last name is almost unique, and sounds like a letter. So if it was See, I would say my last name is See, it’s spelled S E E. Otherwise if someone asked me my name, and I said See, they would look at me like, C what? My nickname is Breezy. Common Englishword, right?. I mention this because when they need a name for an order, I say “Breezy, like the wind” And it always gets misspelled. ---

I have an easily recognizable last name but for reasons I can’t explain a relatively large percentage of people who speak AAVE have problems pronouncing it. There are also alternate spellings that don’t effect the pronunciation so people randomly misspell it. I’m pretty sure my spelling is the most common. ---

My 1st/last name combination is unique on this planet, due to my parents being immigrants and giving their kids nice American first names, and my last name is unusual enough that it is often both misspelled and mispronounced. Actually, what am I saying, there are at least three pronunciations of our last name just within our family. Nobody at this point pronounces the name like the old country. I don’t think I can actually call anything a mispronunciation at this point. ---

If I had to go vegan, I’d still eat meat, fish, cheese, and eggs. I’d fight that hypothetical hard. What are they going to do, kill me? I’d risk it before being vegan. ---

I’ve never been given sunglasses or goggles, and now I’m a little surprised. My dentist’s practice is usually right on top of trends. They don’t shine the light in my eyes, though, and they let me keep my glasses on unless they’re doing something really involved in there. So, for instance, when they were prepping me for a crown, it was glasses off, but when they placed the permanent crown, they stayed on. ---

My now wife and I had a trip planned to go to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. The reservations were for April of 2020. Needless to say the trip never happened. I would like to do it one day but if I wasn’t allowed to go to Canada I would just go somewhere else. ---

I’m not sure exactly where I first heard of Trump, but it was definitely in the latter part of the '80s. By the time that there was the plotline in _Bloom County_, in which Trump’s brain was transplanted into Bill the Cat (which, I think, ran in '88 or '89), I already knew who Trump was. I also remember when “[Trump: The Game](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump:_The_Game)” originally came out in '89. ---

I don’t remember when or where I first heard of Trump. It may have been when he first made noises about running for POTUS but then went away in a snit and didn’t do so. However I don’t remember what year that was except that I’m pretty sure it was in this century. It would depend on why I couldn’t go to Canada. Lack of time, money, and/or health? These things happen. Canada decides they’re fed up and they won’t let anybody at all in from the USA? That would indicate major problems, but the problem wouldn’t be mine specifically. Canada gets taken over by Nazis and won’t allow Jews in? That would be quite scary. The US government and/or police taking away my passport (for reasons other than my personally having done something that currently justifies their doing that, such as my being justifiably under indictment and considered a flight risk)? It wouldn’t be the lack of ability to go to Canada specifically; but I’d be extremely upset. But I suppose for purposes of the poll it’s none of the above, but instead that damn genie again. ---

The first time I heard of Donald Trump referred to as a real person was in 2003, when I was fifteen years old. Prior to that, I had thought he was some sort of fictional character in a movie or comic book. ---

I’ve known some meat eaters who are obnoxious about the existence of vegans and vegetarians. IME the tendency to be obnoxious about one’s diet has little if anything to do with what the diet is. (I think being forbidden any of the foods in that poll would screw up my system. I didn’t vote in it.) ---

Do I have to get the spiders out of the house? What about if I just get most of them out of the rooms I use most? I don’t mind sharing. But I don’t want to move. (My current house contains a moderate number of spiders. I haven’t tried to count them.) ---
