I just created this thread on the delights (or lack) of black licorice.

My mother used to buy it occasionally, and I developed a taste for it. My oldest brother also loves it.

NOBODY else that I know IRL likes the stuff. The family was horrified when the topic came up. I developed anosmia / ageusia when I had COVID in 2022, just long enough to be interesting; as an experiment, I tried some black licorice and it was quite disappointing.

This person, on the other hand, found that he LOVED the stuff when he had COVID.
