Switching to [pour-over coffee](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/share-your-pour-over-coffee-technique/1011508) has increased my appreciation for the smell of coffee, particularly the part where I grind the beans right before brewing. The ritual, and that smell, do add to my enjoyment of the actual coffee.
