I hate it when the prior user of a public toilet has “hovered”, and not cleaned the seat.

I had a job bagging groceries when I was in college. At this store, the the baggers were also responsible for cleaning the restrooms. And in my experience, the women’s bathroom was usually nastier than the men’s, precisely due to women “hovering” and getting pee all over the seat (and sometimes there were a couple of pubic hairs stuck to it for good measure). Although at the time I didn’t know about hovering, so I was really confused as to how women were getting pee on the toilet seat.

I hate guys who go into the stall and pee standing up with the seat down.

Ask someone who hovers.

But i assume it’s because the seat is already down, and they don’t want to touch it. Women usually leave the seat down, ya know. The only time i see seats up on a public women’s room is sometimes right after they’ve been cleaned.

Yeah, that’s gross, too.

On Italian trains, the seat is on springs, and pops up when you get off it. This has the virtue that lazy people don’t pee on it, and i rather liked it.

Oddly enough, i got a text from someone who said they wanted to do some work on the house recently. I forget what. It might have been the roof.

I don’t get much spam in my texts, and i was really pissed. Why yes, i reported the number as spam and blocked it.

We’ve had a number of severe thunderstorms, and hail damage, in this area this spring. The roof repair people have been _relentless_ since then: texts, phone calls, people knocking at the front door.

We called it a bench scraper when I was working in a bakery.

Picture 2 shows a pancake turner, and I have no idea what the thing in picture 3 is.

The cake decorator used spatulas like that for icing, but with a straight blade rather than a bent one. I think I’d call it a cake spatula.

I’ve seen those in use, probably whilst in the Navy. I’ve never discussed them with anyone, so I don’t have a name for them.

Mine actually has a straight blade, too, but the picture was similar enough that i linked it. I just call it a spatula. 🤷‍♀️ Mostly i don’t have to name it, because mostly i just pull it out of the drawer and use it, without taking about it.

“Offset spatula.” I like that name; we called it a “cake spreader” a name our Russian cake decorator probably came up with herself.

That’s a large offset spatula. They’re good for griddle work, like at the Waffle House. We had one growing up, but it never saw much use, as we don’t have a large-assed griddle.

I flew over the African coast on my way to Europe but I don’t think that counts as “visited”.

It looks like my family has a limit of 3 continents per person or less.

My dad: South America, North America, Antarctica  
Me: South America, North America, Europe.  
My sister: South America, Asia, Europe.

ETA: Not so!, I now remember that my sister’s flight to India had a scale in Ethiopia, so she has the rest of the family beat with four continents.
