I didn’t vote.
— It occurs to me to add that if you’re learning things from it that you really think you ought to know, maybe you should finish it even if you’re not enjoying it; but not just because you’re learning something. There are more things to learn about the universe than you could ever get to. Choose things that you need and/or enjoy; preferably both.

I dont like peanut butter and _jelly_ - I prefer _jam_ instead.

Someone bought me a jar of _“Toe Jam”_ for Christmas last year.
It looks really good but it is still sitting unopened in my refrigerator.

The Beatles book is fine. Perhaps a bit too detailed… I really don’t need to know about their advancement through the British school system, or the names of the guys who played in the Quarry Men for a month or two… but I was looking forward to that level of detail from 1963-onward.
I’ll probably finish it, but it won’t be my #1 read of the year.

As someone who turned 10yo in 1977, there was _nothing_ more exciting than knowing that Evel Knievel was going to be on _Wide World of Sports_ on a Saturday afternoon. _Nothing_.
Load me up on half a box of Super Sugar Crisps mixed with handfuls of Captain Crunch, with pre-show morning entertainment of Hong Kong Phooey and Ultraman, and it’s a wonder I survived. Or my parents.

“Jelly” is similar to what you’d likely know as fruit jam or fruit preserves. The big difference between jelly and jam is texture: jelly is smoother, and lacks chunks of fruit.
The “peanut butter and jelly” (PBJ) is one of the most popular sandwich types in the U.S., especially among kids. It’s most typically made with grape jelly or strawberry jelly.

I don’t give a damn what you call it, jelly or jam or preserves. I don’t even care what flavor it is. The ONLY acceptable place for it is inside a donut, and the ONLY thing that goes on a peanut butter sandwich is Honey. I’ll take plain peanut butter, but only on warm toast so it melts a little.

We went to the Ren Faire one year; one of the vendors was labeled selling ceramic bowls with lids; you might have something similar in your kitchen for [flour or sugar](https://cdn.apartmenttherapy.info/image/upload/f_auto,q_auto:eco,c_fill,g_auto,w_1500,ar_3:2/k%2Farchive%2Fb63cba89de4a4f41842321db191f21885946425f). The embedded ceramic labels on these were more interesting & oh so appropriate for a Ren Faire - Eye of Newt, Wing of Bat; I bought & still have in my kitchen the one that said Toe Nails. 🤣

It’s sweet, but the peanut butter has enough fat and protein to keep you full for a while. And nothing in it needs to be refrigerated if you want to pack your lunch for the day. Yes, it’s a kid’s sandwich. But I’ll confess to sometimes slapping one together for me, especially if I’m going to be out for the day and want to bring lunch.

I have never tried a PBJ, but I want to. It’s daft - I have the ingredients (i’ll need to make some bread first).
2 questions …
Does it need normal butter as well as PB ?
Does it matter if the PB is salted ?
I voted 50/50 for the PB / J as that’s how I will do it when I make some bread
and remember to try it.
And I voted PB and J becausde I want to try it !

No, there’s no reason to add butter. Peanut butter is already plenty fatty.
Salted peanut butter is fine. So is unsalted. It’s just a question of preference.
