Maskerade](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=402762) Thoughts? I liked the twist about the candles being poisoned, and Cheery Littlebottom is one of my favourite characters of the series, and the parody of the Blackberry / PDA was hilarious (“Bingeley bingeley beep!”). Also, I want my own specially-made Discworld coat of arms 🙂 ---

Just finished re-reading this a few weeks ago (for some reason I was on a “City Guards” reading kick). I thought it would be tough to top _Men-At-Arms,_ but _Feet of Clay_ was a deft blend of comedy, insight, and intrigue. I’m certainly not much of a detective, as I didn’t clue in to how the poisoning plot until it was all spelled out for me. Cheery and Dorfl are great additions to the Watch, though I’m a little upset Cpl. Littlebottom didn’t go with “Cheri” in the subsequent books. ---

Ditto with the “didn’t figure it out until Vimes laid it out.” I really liked that aspect of the book. Usually I have a handle on the mystery by the end of the third chapter or so. Pterry doesn’t write in chapters, so the book was a puzzle to the end. The golems were a nice addition to Ankh-Morpork. Plus, it has the Dwarven Battle Cry., which I have adopted as my own. “Today is a good day for Somebody Else to die!” 😃 _“Just because someone’s a member of an ethnic minority doesn’t mean they’re not a nasty small-minded little jerk […]”_ ---

A great Asimov Robot story, that hasn’t got any Asimov or any Robots.
