Don’t forget: You can go to any pedophile ring, maximum security prison, white supremacist meeting, or rally of Trump supporters and find people even less worthy than Trump. All without the sense of shame that would make them decline high office if offered. Let’s say that the Democratic fever dream comes true and Donald Trump ends up in prison. We now have inmate Trump, a man who had access to all of the United States’ most closely held secrets and a man who has absolutely no qualms about burning down the country for his own benefit or amusement, in prison. How exactly do we deal with that situation? ---

How exactly do we deal with that situation? First of all, there is no evidence that he ever read one sentence of any intelligence briefing. Any secrets that he was made privy to were likely oral briefings only, which went in one ear and, meeting no resistance, went out the other. Since none of what he heard affected him financially, there would have been no reason for him to remember one single word. And if he did remember anything, the odds against him being truthful in retelling any of it are astronomical. Finally, his fellow inmates would be in no position to exploit any information they would get from him. But it still wouldn’t hurt to put him in solitary. ---

If NCAA championships can be vacated, why not US presidencies? The line from 2017-2021\* would just be blank. Assuming he’s not removed before then. If he is, there’d be another blank for the interim. ---

But I was serious about the change in American attitudes toward the rest of the world (and vice versa). It will be decades before an American politician can smugly assert US superiority—at least without being greeted with gales of laughter. That, at least, is a good thing. ---
