# Dish TV lost recording

So according to DishTV, a show was recorded fine, never deleted, and neither skipped nor canceled during recording. However, I cannot find it on my list of shows. It is literally nowhere to be seen even though there is no reason it should be right there. Is this a common problem with DishTV and is there anyway to find out what happened to that program?

I wouldn’t call it a “common problem” but these sorts of irregular things do happen. Not uncommon but quite sporadic and inexplicable. Note that Dish has apparently having as yet not crisply defined problems nationwide as of late.

The only time I’ve lost recorded shows was when my receiver unit died a couple of years ago. I did have a weird problem recently where my DVR started recording random shows, and the guide showed no info available for most everything. I did a reset of the receiver and had it download the program info again, and then it was fine.

If this is a one time event that happened on Sep 13, then it could be related to a satellite issue that Dish had yesterday that knocked quite a few HD channels.

Their support lines were clogged and their website was down for a a few hours.
