I think it’s a fair bet to say we’ve all encountered the expression, “Because it’s made with _love_” and that’s why the dish is so good.

What dish would be so good if it were made with anger?

I made one of these once.

If I wasn’t angry while I was making it, I sure was after I tasted it. Way too much work for the result, which is too rich and has too many conflicting flavors. Didn’t care for it at all.

I don’t recall the details, but I do recall seeing a meme with some dish that had a topping made of different types of hot peppers in concentric circles. Milder peppers at the edge, with hotter ones farther in and Carolina Reaper at the very center.

Just name it Increasing Rage and you would have an anger-themed meal.

Chips are according to legend. The story goes they were invented when an irritating customer kept sending their potatoes back for being too thick. Until the exasperated chef was like “I’ll give you thin potatoes you asshole!” And put them in the meat slicer.

No idea if true, or if it was, what dish he was intending to serve. Were fried thick sliced (not chipped) potatoes a thing before chips?

I don’t think I’ve ever made anything with anger, but I have definitely made dishes out of spite. For example, my father-in-law has a childish aversion to seafood of all types, but falsely claims to be allergic to seafood. After many years, I figured out his game, so when they would visit, I would use oyster sauce and fish sauce as often as I could.

I’ve never made that particular recipe, but it seems pretty much like a variation on a shoo-fly pie, which I have had and liked. I suppose you could tone down the intensity if you aren’t that angry.

Ha, I couldn’t think of anything I made out of anger, but your story made me think of when my kids were young— they absolutely refused to eat vegetables of any kind. Drove me crazy. I said to myself “these little jerks are NOT coming down with scurvy on MY watch!” And I actually resorted a few times to grinding up cauliflower in a food processor into almost a powder and baking it into biscuits (they loved their carbs). The trick is to still give them a side of veggies and pretend to be mad when they don’t eat them, or they would immediately get suspicious.

Worked like a charm. “Any more biscuits left, dad?” “Sure, help yourself!” 😏

“Bless your Heart” chicken.

Chicken thighs. Salt, Paper and mustard powder(bonus if you have some mustard seed.

Add the powder in a small amt. of flour. Dredge chicken. Bake til rubbery.

(I just made that up).

Hey, not a morning person. I resented every morning I had to cook breakfast for this bunch. Yeah I was angry. I still grit my teeth at the thought of it.
