# Disliking an actor vs. the character they play

Wikipedia has the story of Harrison refusing to sign an autograph so rudely that he was punched. Stanley Holloway said it was a case of “the fan hitting the shit.” Both Carol Landis and Rachael Roberts both committed suicide in the aftermaths of relationships with him.

(Can’t find the name) biography of Burt Lancaster relates how he brought Yvonne deCarlo home from a date. She was unable to open the front door, he followed her to the back yard and date-raped her on her mink coat. Some accounts of this make it consensual (at least by 1940s standards), but I put it to you the jury: what woman is going to consensually risk ejaculate on her mink?

Watching **Val** , I was struck by the similarity between Val Kilmer and Burt Lancaster. Both wanted to be more than beefcake himbos, fair enough, but both’s reach exceeded their grasp, exerting his handsome guy ego to fill the intellectual void.

Anthony Anderson played Antwon on The Shield, and he was such a bad guy gangster on that show that I immediately have a negative reaction towards anything else I see him in.
