Okay, now I AM a little pissed. I remarked jokingly that I was a bit ticked that Disney had the gall to put out a sequel to “Lady and the Tramp” (one of my favorite Disney films.) They do it because they know it’ll make millions anyway, despite the fact that it’s derivative crap, and this way they don’t have to pay someone to think up an original concept. If they actually cared about the quality of their movies, most of their recent “original” works never would have seen the light of day. They know they just have to slap the Disney label on it and parents will take their kids to see it. Personally, I’m looking forward to “Peter Pan 2: Never Say Neverland Again.” 😉 ---

Kenny Everett made a sequel to **“Bambi”** that was thoroughly brilliant (IMO). It was entitled **“Bambi versus Godzilla”** and consisted, IIRC (it was over 20 years ago) of about 30 seconds of credits and 1 second of action. Bambi lost. Unless I dreamed it, this is really true. ---

Bambi Meets Godzilla was actually done by a Canadian man named Marv Newland. Disney himself once said, “I don’t believe in making sequels.” ---

Wow. I hadn’t thought Disney could piss me off even more. I’m still seething over “Hercules”. Who in fuck told them that it would be a good idea to take a story about divine rape, adultery, jealousy, poinsonings, and shit-shoveling and make it into a kids movie by removing…say…everything? ---

I’m with you on this one **Euty**. I was living with my 1st ex-fiance and her son, and we had an argument because I did not want to buy the direct-to-video sequel to Beauty and Beast. Disney’s just pumping out more crap after more crap - all for direct-to-video profits, proving that quality and integrity for the name comes second to how much they can fleece the parents for. ---

If Disney can keep selling these pieces of crap, then there is no reason for them to stop. When I was growing up, I don’t remember any good Disney movies. (I’m 27) I always thought they were crap. They had a good run for a few years, but now they are trying to rest on their brandname. ---

Ya know what they should do? A _Tarzan_ TV series, with the 7 year old Tarzan. The little Tantor and the little Terk were adooooorable. The only Disney sequels I’ve liked are the _Beauty and the Beast Christmas_ (partially because I have a crush on Belle) and _The Rescuers Down Under_ (because of its quite impressive use of CGI for the time). The rest suck. Even the _Lion King_ one. ---

Why doesn’t Disney just make the animated version of “Into the Woods” and be done with it? It is like the ultimate sequel to many of Grimm’s and other’s Fairie Tales done in one musical. They cannot possibly do better with what they’re planning. ---

Dammit **Euty** , I was going to post about that. I just read about that in [Animation Blast](http://www.animationblast.com/news). There are now two eyewitnesses to the tragedy. Peter Pan II is now set in the middle of World War II! And it will be theatrically released (as opposed to out on video, which would be easier to ignore.) But, look on the bright side. It isn’t a summer release, so it isn’t the big movie. And their summer release that year, _Lilo and Stitch_, appears to be halfway decent. ---

I don’t recal this etail myself, by Michael Medved claims in one f hs books that a turtle character is named (presumably by the cynical translators) “Agent DV8” (say it out loud).
