I’ve mentioned before that my Wife and I make road trips about once a year. About 5 years ago, the trip took us from Colorado to Wisconsin. Wow. The number of Buck OFama bumper stickers was unsettling. I guess they think they’re being clever. Good though, that it’s really nothing more than an “I’m an idiot” badge, and they choose to identify themselves as such. The one thing though, that I can’t get out of my mind… A Pick up truck with a chain hanging off the rear bumper. Just suspended off the ground. Handcuffed to that chain was a small, fake plastic hand. A black hand. ---

In [debates](http://www.reviewjournal.com/columns-blogs/politics/slash-politics/five-things-we-learned-voter-id-hearing)over voter ID laws in Nevada, a Republican lawmaker attempted to refute concerns about the disproportionate effect of voter ID laws on minorities by pointing to the fact that we have a black president. She then demonstrated her post-racial sensibilities by referring to one of her colleagues as a “colored man.” > [@](#): > > Racism is over because we’ve got a black president.
