Is the baby boy or girl? And. .you are Grandmother, your word is law, (keep repeating that to yourself, hey, it may come true). My daughter never needed me so much as those first weeks after delivery. It was quite touching, her being my rebel and all. Her 2nd baby she got it in her head I should be her labor coach. That was some kinda hard, I tell you. My baby in pain and no relief I could offer. She also cussed me like a sailor, which the nurses found quite funny. But she now has 2 beautiful boys. All worth it. Really though you do have an opinion to offer about diapers. Day care, discipline or college choice, not so much. Good luck, grandbaby kisses are the sweetest! ---

Granddaughter, unless everyone misread the ultrasound. I intend to be available for support as needed, but it’s not my baby, it’s theirs. Now, when I’m doing GrandmaDaycare, it’ll be a different story! 😃 Actually, my daughter and I are pretty much of the same mind regarding most child-rearing decision, and I’m hoping to be the crafting grandmother and the musical grandmother. We shall see… ---

We’ve been about 85% cloth here, but for the disposable stuff, we use Up & Up and Meijer brand diapers, and they have not been a problem whatsoever. Obviously, do what works for you, but it’s worked fine for us. ---

My wife and I have tried all the brands at one point or another in our extensive parenting history, including some store brands, and have never found anything that does an even tolerable job other than Pampers. ---

Since no one has yet offered up this sensible advice, I will: Regardless of brand or cost, just because it says “6-12 pounds” on the package does NOT mean they will hold that much…discharge. You are welcome. ---

We have a newborn in the gargoyle house. We’re using **Andy Pandy** for the better eco footprint. Fully biodegradable bamboo. In our case, we have a backyard scrap fire pile, and these diapers burn away quickly and easily. No irritating scents either. Functionally, they absorb great and the only blowouts/leaks we’ve had were our own user error not noticing a gap or foldover when putting them on.
