I live about 23 miles away from where I was born. I was born in what was formerly known as the Los Angeles County Hospital and is now USC Medical Center. ---

So far it looks like my c. 3600 miles (University Park, PA to Oxford, UK) is only good enough for the SDMB bronze. On the other extreme, seven years ago I was living only about a mile away from the Penn State hospital where I was born. Until recently an aunt of mine was living next door to the house in which she was born. I wonder if anyone will be able to beat her record: twenty feet! ---

He was born in the house he lives in now. Except for his time in the Army (WWII) he has always lived there,and he’s 80+yrs old. Now thats staying close to home. ---

According to the previously posted link, I live **10570** miles from my place of birth! 🙂 Now the catch- the numbers are for Perth, Australia to Houston, TX. I was born in Exmouth which is about 300 miles (I think) north of Perth, but Exmouth isn’t on the database. ---

I’m 10531 miles, making **Mamapotomus** ’ Exmouth/ Perth number significant. Mine is an estimate too, taking Derby UK rather than the actual Leicester UK as the start point (perhaps 40 miles different) ending up in Melbourne Australia. picmr ---

As of now, my legal residence is in the same town as the hospital in which I was born. (Glens Falls, NY) However, I spend most of the year in Plattsburgh, NY, where I go to school, and I travel a lot. ---
