> I think you mean scripted fiction shows, but here is the most [distracting hairstyle](https://www.history.co.uk/shows/ancient-aliens/articles/10-facts-about-the-ancient-aliens-guy) I have seen on TV. He’s an ancient aliens guy on the History Channel.

Yeah, but he’s crazy anyway.

Sometimes more distracting is when I notice earring holes on men in time periods where men did not pierce their ears.

I was at a live production of **Singin’ in the Rain** yesterday and noticed that they had done a pretty bad job of covering up one of the female dancers’ back tattoo with makeup.

> I started binging Lucifer recently and found myself constantly distracted by the [bizarre bubble do of Detective Douche](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DHsmM8_UwAIoyMV.jpg).

Good one. I’ve come to assume they give him that style to enhance the doucheyness.
The first time I watched it, I hated him instantly, way before Lucifer referred to him as Det. Douche (I love that!). I think he looks quite cute (or at least better on [True Blood](https://www.google.com/search?q=kevin+alejandro+true+blood&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiX8Zer7d3bAhVNuVMKHVgKAGwQ_AUICigB&biw=870&bih=390#imgrc=TZPrfVv2Oa7FtM:).

> **Jennshark** , I had almost forgotten about those damned bangs in _Requiem_ (hell, I had all but forgotten about the show). There is no hairstyle I detest more and hers is the epitome. Made me root for the evil forces. And you can throw Zoey Deschanel ,the already mention Pauley Perette and Jennifer Love Hewitt in _The Ghost Whisperer_ into my roiling pot of hatred.
>
> Patricia Heaton’s hair in the first season of _Everybody Loves Raymond_ made me active angry. I ended up really liking the series and will watch reruns if I come across them, unless it’s from that time period.
>
> Tara’s braids on \*True Blood \* were annoying. I can’t put my finger on it; I like braids and I like the actress but not together. It influenced my feelings about the character. Speaking of True Blood, thank goodness they didn’t keep (my sweet baby) Alexander Skarsgard’s character in his [long hair](https://www.google.com/search?q=true+blood+alexander+skarsgard&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjQ0Nr3nt3bAhWD3VMKHZdYBWMQ_AUICigB&biw=870&bih=390#imgdii=KXyPe6ZA_JH91M:&imgrc=js99MwPe4bsQmM:). Blecccch.

I disliked the Requiem bangs at first; by episode three I loathed the series and my bangs hate escalated.

Spoilers and swears below (sorry folks, boxes don’t work on my phone).

Around ep 2-3 I told SharkWife: “this better not be the whole cliched ‘evil town cult sacrifices kids’ shit. Do her bangs bother you?” and screamed “Take a freakin DNA test already!” at the TV.

Ep 4: “Fuck me, here we go with this beat down cult thing. God, I hate Bangy McBangerson and her bangs. Hal should kill her with that stupid cello.”

In 5 I yearned to see Bangy gruesomely murdered by all the townspeople she was a bothery bitch to. Did the writers think she was a sympathetic character? She wasn’t even an interesting villain!

Ep 6: “ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? This is the worstestest, laziest crappy plot writing I’ve seen in a very long time. KILL THAT BANGY DEMON POS!”

So, yes, I hate watched the whole thing. Wife wasn’t hating it as much, so I graded papers and made snarky comments from ep 4 to finish. Jeez, they really had to work at making this series soooo bad. I should have heeded The Guardian’s review – this was a trite mix of old Hammer film plots with better production values and really good cinematography.

BAAAANNNNNGGGGS!

It was really bad back in the 1970’s when the boys on _Little House on the Prairie_ had the same haircut that Greg Brady had. Farm boys back then would have had very short hair, easier to keep clean when you only get one bath a week.

> Seven posts and nobody’s mentioned “The Hunger Games” or any John Waters movie, especially the ones starring Divine?

Yeah, because Divine’s hair is the freakiest, most unusual thing in a John Waters movie ever. I was watching “Pink Flamingos” and thought, “well, yeah, she’s eating dog shit and there’s a singing asshole but… that HAIR!” 😃

For me, I was always distracted by Darryl’s hair on “The Walking Dead”. I haven’t watched it for a few years, but I couldn’t get over the fact that it always looked so salon perfect even in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Sawyer’s hair on “Lost” also bugged me for the same reason. No matter what dire situation either character was in, I could only think “Where did they manage to find a stylist in the zombie apocalypse / uncharted desert island?”

Thanks for that. I had almost forgotten how much I hated Ralphie. 😉

Mrs. Slocombe (Are You Being Served?) dyed her hair a different color for every show, and there was never any mention of it by any of the cast. Some of the colors were a bit much.

I’m often put off when I see movies set in past times where the male characters wear hair styles appropriate for the time in which the movie was made, not the time when the movie was set.
