I tend to read whatever book I am currently working on…right now it’s “Passage to Juneau” by Johnathan Raban, about a voyage from Seattle to Alaska on a sailboat…highly recommended… Keith ---

Several issues of **New Scientist** magazine _The Character of Physical Law_, by Richard Feynman _The Definitive Biography of P.D.Q. Bach_, by Professor Peter Shickele I also just discovered that _Learning Perl_ (aka “the llama book”) was in there too. I think it just wandered in there one absent-minded day. ---

In our main downstairs bathroom we’ve got a little roll around cart with four baskets. The top basket holds reading material and currently contains, as I recall; This years _Fine Homebuilding_ special issue on houses, A _Reader’s Digest_ (My mother gave it to me, I hate this magazine, but I read the jokes.) _The Colour of Magic_ by Terry Prachett _Tuesdays with Morrie_ by Mitch Albom Walthers N guage train catalog from 2000 something else, but I’m upstairs right now and too lazy to go look. ---

I have last three Straight Dope books available for reading in the “little room”. The first two used to live there, but are now on the bookshelf with the other books because I read them so many times I decided they needed a rest. ---

I’m still trying to figure out what screech-owl meant by “I needed to go there anywhere…” Does it mean that he/she sometimes goes anywhere in the house? I’m not the neatest person by any means, but really! I’m reminded of the thread about pooping on the cat, sneakily. Anyway, I just finished reading (on my toilet, not crouched in some befouled corner; shame on you, screech-owl), WHY THEY KILL by Richard Rhodes. A different take on murderers and, well…why they kill. Not what I’d call an easy read, but fascinating. I keep one full size book in the BR, usually one I’m not sure if I’m going to like, and just replace it if I don’t. Just kidding (I certainly hope) screech-owl. ---

The bookcase (yes, it is a bookcase - a narrow one that fits the space between the door and the tub, and is directly across from and within arm’s reach of the toilet) is pristine white-laminated particleboard with a single scratch on the side (from trying to move it through the doorway).
