DIY: Testing Earth's curvature. Clear assumptions, proposition of two experiment.

To be clear:

the way the moon is ILUMINATED is NOT due to some optical malformation.

karol, would you answer my question in post #50?

You have no idea about what you are talking about. You are making assumptions that the moon is lit from the side when it’s lit more from the front. The angles make perfect sense if you watch the moon rather than just take snapshots. Millions upon millions of people for thousands of years have made exactly the same observations. You are not unlocking the secrets of the universe with your bad pictures and idiotic videos.

But what the hell, I’m a masochist and I read about the Hollow Earth “theory” on wikipedia so I’m an expert now. Karol - how does gravity work? If the entire celestial sphere is above us and stored in a 4000 mile diameter sphere then why does the moon look so large when we get there? How can Jupiter exist which is significantly larger? How can you get multiple gravity wells up there if everything is drawn to the Earth’s surface? I get that your theory assumes that it takes infinite energy to get to the center of the Earth and that length contraction is a must - so just how long do you think a beam of light fired from one side of the sphere to the other would take? Do other galaxies exist? If I dig an extremely deep hole - let’s say 10 million miles - where will I be?

Karol, why on earth [pun intended] should I watch your damn videos when your only explanation for familiar photographic effects is “no it isn’t”?

[John Cleese] Yes it is. [/JC]

Can you tell me under what conditions I might be able to go look at the sky myself and see the Milky Way appear as an arch on one side of the sky?

The OP has already been instructed to keep threads such as this out of MPSIMS and confine them to GD. No warning here, since this thread was started before that ruling was handed down, but we’re still not going to have this in here.

karol, feel free to make your claims in Great Debates.
