Do Americans not use kettles?

I think this is similar to…my uncle is married to a Phillipino woman…she has a rice cooker. Every morning she loads it up with that yummy Jasmine rice and cooks up a batch for the day. She eats it breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is her diet staple. We eat a lot of rice my daughter and I, once a week maybe, but I don’t find that enough to need a cooker. But when I was married to my picky eater husband, I had a Fry Daddy always ready for his daily intake of homemade french fries. LOL (I wasn’t actually trying to poison him, just frying all his food!)
