Do any Jews celebrate *secular* X-Mas?

Let’s see - my family is Jewish and observant, so we don’t celebrate - unless you count Mrs. KVS and me going to see a movie as a celebration. The kids are in school on the 25th, so why not take advantage of it?

“So, Merry Christmas everyone. Or as we Jews like to call it, ‘National Go To The Movies Day’.”

A good friend of mine (who is an Orthodox Jew) celebrates every Dec. 25.

Then again, it is her birthday.

My wife and I are both liberal Conservative Jews but December 25th has always been important to us: 25 years ago on this date Hanukkah and Christmas overlapped and a mutual Jewish friend of ours and her Christian roommates threw a big party. That’s when we met for the first time. Five years later we married (in August), but we still consider this date our “real” anniversary.

And tomorrow we and our kids will meet our yenta friend and her kids for Chinese dinner in the International district.
