Fair enough if you can find an honest head shop salesman who can help beyond just making commission- another thing I’ve found to be quite rare.

Okay, I bought one today, the PAX model from Ploom. I’m not sure if I’m doing it right, because I don’t see any vapor coming out of my mouth, but there are vids on Youtube, so I’ll probably understand how to work it eventually.
When using it on lighter settings you may notice next to nothing visibly. It’s the higher settings that produces thick ‘vapor’, but when you see the revape (substance post vape) on higher settings you’ll notice that some of it does burn, which contributes to the thickness of the vapor. I prefer lighter settings, makes for easy vaping and a delicious sort of sweet nutty taste. Different people prefer different settings, and different studies claim to show different effectiveness, but the bottom line is: are you getting the desired effect from your substance? If so, it’s working right
Also, I’ll note that the revape itself is still smokable, should you ever be in desperate times, or have a friend in need. Just a warning though, no matter what smoking method you use, even an ice tobacco water pipe, it will probably be the harshest stuff you’ve ever smoked. Ever smoked just paper before? Know how harsh that is? Revape is worse.
Oh, okay, it smelled like I was smoking flowers, and it made me a little light-headed.
I hope I’ll get used to it, cause it was pricey, but time will tell, I guess.
Try messing with the settings over time until you find your sweet spot. I have no recent experience with vapes, and none at all with portable ones, which after a quick search yours appears to be, so it may be different from how my past models worked. Hope you get what you’re looking for out of it, good luck!
Look up “magic flight” and there are a bunch I’d headshops all over Long Island. Stay away from utopia though, they’re wayyyyy overpriced.
Edit:
Oh I see you found one. All the best
I’m surprised myself, and I live in Brooklyn.
I’m not old enough to be a hippie, but I know there are stores all over the West Village that are similar in inventory if not ambiance to what “head shop” means to me.
I’m sure it will be immediately apparent if it’s working properly or not.
Takes a little practice to get it right.
It’s a very slow, low-pressure inhale. You don’t so much ‘hit’ it as just take it in.
And it doesn’t necessarily come on immediately like smoking does.
With the cheaper plug-in models, let them warm up for a while.
Just leave the thing turned on if you’re a frequent puffer.
ETA- the Magic Flight Launch Box, referenced above, is an amazing bit of technology.
Ideal for outdoor use or anywhere fire isn’t practical.
I have this also and like it.
BTW, what’s with the poetry formatting of your posts?
Just for readability- somehow the lines come out long and narrow on my screen and look weird to me.
If I was writing lengthier paragraphs, they’d look more like paragraphs should look.
Same here in New York, which may be why some folks in this thread are under the impression there are no head shops in NYC. The West Village is littered with them.
