::Giggle, snort::

They grunt, and make “armadillo-ish sounds”, according to [Armadillo Online](http://www.msu.edu/~nixonjos/armadillo/index.html). Also,

> Armadillos make grunting sounds as they forage for food. They also may squeak or squeal when they feel threatened. The [screaming hairy armadillo](http://www.msu.edu/~nixonjos/armadillo/chaetophractus.html#vellerosus) is especially known for the loud squeals it makes.

It’s kinda cute, actually.

Yes, so don’t eat them undercooked. 😃

(But seriously, according to the Zoologist whose page I linked too, that’s the only way you can get it from them.)

Screaming Hairy Armadillo is either a band name or the name of the protagonist of a rather strange series of children’s books. Sort of an anti-Arthur.

Or both.

Is it true that an armadillo’s grunt will not echo?
