# Do Battery Desulphaters Really Work?

Calling on the teaming millions to give me the straight dope. When lead-acid batteries become sulphated due to poor charging or due to temperature can they really be resurrected by using “desulphaters”?

There are many companies now selling devices that pulse current into the battery, the purported effect being the sulphate crystals are broken down and dissolved back into the sulphuric acid thus restoring the batteries capacity to accept a charge.
