Do birds have their own "spots"

A pair of Mourning Doves had a favorite roost (right over my car) with predictable results. I tried one of those fake owls. It had no effect. I ended up going out after dark and throwing a football at them. It seemed to work. Once frightened off, they wouldn’t return that night. Eventually, they found a new place to relieve themselves. Whether that was a result of my football or not, I can’t say.

Oh yeah.

Our male osprey had his favorite tree to get his fish ready for either his mate or their chicks (~3 weeks to go before they hatch). When the tree got cut down, he moved on top of a nearby light pole.

There’s a cattle egret that I’ve several times around town. He loves to perch on top of people’s cars, and hunts in hedgerows for lizards.

I also have several great egrets here too, who have their favorite spots along various highways. One I often see around my place, always hunting in the same spots (also for lizards).

Our Norwegian Blue has stayed in the same spot since we got it

He’s restin’! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn’it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

Wins the thread…
