# Do broadband users inflict more strain on gaming servers than 56k users?

It’s happened to a alot of us FPS PC gamers - That one player (most likely a 56k user) on the other team who is harder to kill, warps, and just plain laggy.

I know in some cases the server can be blamed for the lagg. But I normally play in offical server with top notch connections.

So do broadband users inflict more strain on a server than 56k, since more info is being uploaded. I heard somewhere that “56kers” do not lag everyone else… they just “lag” themselves. Is this true?

The slow guy really isn’t slowing the rest of the people down, at least in the games I play.  
That being said though, if his motion is messed up, your ability to kill him _is_ laggy. It’s nearly a philosophical question as to which of you is lagged… sure, you’re in closer synch to the server, but sometimes that’s not your goal.
