Do y’all know that in medical circles, doctors and nurses (and their family members get better, more attentive care while in the hospital. And children of influential people have more opportunities. Is there a trend here?

One of my Dad’s friends from childhood is a police detective who was the local PBA rep. Well, when he retired after 25 years, he took a job at the PBA. So now he’s the one who gives the cards to the cops. On this state’s cards, there are two signatures, one for the PBA officer, and one for the police officer it was given too. His being in the position of giving out the cards has the neat side effect of him being able to sign both places. Talk about looking like you have connections…
