No because politics doesn’t consume their lives and become the pillar of their personality. Same reason why a liberal version to rival conservative talkradio never went anywhere. There’s more to life than tuning in to hear a bunch of things shouted in a maniacal outrage that mostly is just made up fearmongering.
Republicans are, in general, delusional and angry. They need rallies to pass along the rabid stupidity and seethe together. CPAC is a place for the world’s most mendacious assholes to promote their shitty RW media shows.
What would the LPAC do, have Rachel Maddow talk about how “hey, we should make the country less terrible for everyone?”
The purpose of CPAC seems to be rallying the troops back into a united front. That’s something Republicans do.
If there were a CPAC for Democrats, they’d spend all their time undermining and attacking each other. We already have Twitter for that.
While the Democrats appear un-aligned and disjoined due to the number of camps within supporting a variety of topics, the things they support have broad appeal among the majority of American voters. The Republicans, OTOH, support things that a growing minority of voters like, so they need the supportive propaganda apparatus of CPAC, talk radio, Faux News, etc. to organize and gin-up outrage and excitement for their causes. It’s like people need to be stimulated to align to Republican causes, where for Democrats the things they support are just naturally attractive to a lot of people without having to be told to be outraged.
