Not to push the point, **Tristan** , but they _do_ offer a ā€œbeer-gutā€ cut, with the waist a bit lower in front than in back, so it hangs evenly (at least, they _did_ā€¦I havenā€™t been around the website in a few years, but Iā€™d bank that itā€™s still an option). Since one of their marketing ploys is to brag about how many beers you can carry in one of their kilts, they have to be somewhat conscious of the results of said beverage. Iā€™ll be the first to acknowledge that they arenā€™t cheap, but after buying 18 of the things (and not wearing pants for over three years), Iā€™ve never regretted spending a single penny on them. They are absolutely worth every dime that they cost. If they sold stock in the company, Iā€™d buy it. ---

Crap, double post: **Glassy** : Theyā€™re snaps, not rivets. They are (along with a belt, which is necessary to keep the waist from flopping foolishly) how the kilt stays together. I really like the Workmanā€™s model (I currently have three) because of all the hardware. In addition to the six snaps in front (which have become sort of a trademarkā€¦and do tend to draw attention to the area), they also have a set of snaps around the right side which are for the expandable ā€œhammer loopā€ attachment, as well as a clip on the left side for keys or whatever, and snaps (and rivets) on the divided pockets. The first Utilikilt I ever ordered was a black workmanā€™s, and it is still one of my favorite UKs (have it on right now, as a matter of fact). They used to make another model with a single snap and a zipper fly (more like regular pants), but they didnā€™t sell well enough and were discontinued. I never got one of those, but donā€™t regret it. They looked silly. ---

The last time I saw some, they were really unflattering and at that weird length between ā€œhootchie mamaā€ and ā€œGrandmaā€™s favorite gardening shortsā€ length. That, and they all seem to come in that stonewashed denim that makes them the skirt equivalent of Mom Jeans. I definitely prefer Bermuda shorts, as theyā€™re just long enough. ---

The year after I graduated high school, I was in a community theatre production of ā€œFiddler on the Roof,ā€ and they asked all of the males to grow a beard if they could. I did, but it was fairly sparseā€¦however, I liked it and have never completely gotten rid of it since. Every spring when the weather gets warm, Iā€™ll take scissors to it and cut most of it off just to air out my face, but I havenā€™t actually gotten rid of the thing entirely for a quarter-century. I absolutely hate to shave. At least, up there. Thatā€™s nearly as long as it grows, though; as is my hair in that pic, which also hasnā€™t been cut in 25 years. I wiill never look like ZZ Top. As to flashing: one of the things I like about Utilikilts is that because of the snaps in the front, flashing is almost impossible by accident. If you wear them traditionally (nothing under them but socks and shoes), you might show a cheek or two if a breeze sneaks up the back, but the front pretty much stays in place (unlike a traditional kilt, which can say ā€œHELLO!ā€ to the world quite unexpectedly). ---

That is one sweet beard Dijon Warlock. Iā€™ve been growing one for about 2 1/2 years. The chin and neck part under my chin is not quite as long as yours but the sides of my jaw and cheek areas seem not to want to grow very long so my beard looks like a ā€œVā€ and not rounded out like yours, which I wish it did. Oh well. Iā€™m keeping it because I hate to shave too. I think god hates shaving as well and thats why he always has a beard in paintings and pictures of old. ---
