# Do injured uniformed Pentagon workers deserve the Purple Heart?

I’m military personnel and I agree that they deserve purple hearts.

**Boxcar** you’re correct that some medals are awarded for “just doing your job.” I would even agree with you if you said that the prestige of some medals has eroded over time. But I also feel that there’s an adequate range of medals to cover everything from routine duty (achievement medals) to the highest levels of sacrifice (Congressional Medal of Honor).

There are other medals besides the Purple Heart that do not require heroism.
