Do injured uniformed Pentagon workers deserve the Purple Heart?

Apparently Angel has gotten national attention, heard the story on CBS radio news.

I’m military personnel and I agree that they deserve purple hearts.

Boxcar you’re correct that some medals are awarded for “just doing your job.” I would even agree with you if you said that the prestige of some medals has eroded over time. But I also feel that there’s an adequate range of medals to cover everything from routine duty (achievement medals) to the highest levels of sacrifice (Congressional Medal of Honor).

There are other medals besides the Purple Heart that do not require heroism.

There’s no “Congressional” in the Medal of Honor.
