Do 'Language Police' Restrict What Students Learn

A retired teacher here. Unless the text is a state history, publishers, to the best of my knowledge, don’t usually write different versions for different states. Since Texas buys such an enormous number of textbooks, publishers routinely get a stamp of approval for their texts from Texas officials. If it won’t fly it Texas, it doesn’t get printed.

I’m reasonably certain that there must be an organized effort in Texas to fight the kind of ignorant censorship that has been going on for decades – and apparently getting worse.
