So I was banned for a month from the SDMB because a little over a month ago I was being a real dick on this message board, I still think my interlocutors were being nasty too, so I don’t want to get into the right or wrong of it, just using it to point out a timeline. On another board that I post on I was being kind of pissy for the last week right up to my ban being lifted here on the SDMB. Today I feel fine and am a little low on energy but otherwise in a good mood. ---

I reckon our ‘time of the month’ exists, but isn’t monthly, more erratic. ---

Farting around on Google a bit, I saw some mention that we do, but our cycles are 24 hours, not 28 days. I also read the claim that we have a different cycle of 74-78 days. But nothing I read comes close to anything like a peer-reviewed study. It was all speculation. ---

It turns out that men have PMS the same as women. Except for men it’s permanent. ---

No, but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t sometimes in a bad mood–for instance because we’ve been fired or dumped, or a relative died or something. ---

My husband tends to get morose for a few days every 60-90 days. In between, he’s still enough of a grumpy old man that I encourage him to put on his black socks and sandals and get outside with the hose to spray the whippersnappers when they get too close to the lawn. ---

I _definitely_ go through cycles of high energy/good mood to low energy/bad mood – they seem to stretch about 6 weeks.
