Just wondering, in light of Pablo O’Malley’s recent banning (thank you for that). Do these people ever respond with threatening or abusive correspondence? Or isn’t there a mechanism for them to do so? ---

Once in a while we get nasty or just plain crazy messages through the webmaster email or our own moderating email addresses, yes. ---

**Cecil** sometimes receives snarky mail. Much of it is without merit (person didn’t read the column/person misunderstood the column). Some are complaints about perceived political bias (to read the letters, Cecil is apparently simultaneously both to the left of Lenin and to the right of Ronald Reagan). ---

I do remember one incident way back when I was a moderator when someone tried to send an e-mail virus to all of the moderators. I can’t remember the cause and effect between that and the banning, though. ---
