Yeah, I’ve occasionally gotten an abusive PM from someone I’ve warned. But that’s fairly rare. In my experience, full-on trolls like the late Mr. O’Malley either make a public response to a note or a warning (which usually gets them banned even faster) or else don’t say anything. After all, they’re mainly interested in making a commotion in public rather than insulting one individual. ---

Although add me to the gazillion others who had no idea injun was offensive, and had I been warned for saying that I would not be a happy bunny. That guy was just asking for trouble though and I’m all for using things like that if it gets rid of him quicker. ---

I would most likely issue at most a mod note for “injun” to a poster who was not a regular offender or who was actually using it innocently. Mr. O’Malley by that time had already established himself as a troll (he already had four mod notes) and there was no doubt that he used it in order to be offensive. ---

It’s so hard to send PMs or emails written in crayon or words cut out of newspapers/magazines. (I’ll bet there’s a font for both, tho) ---
