# Do noses and ears ever stop growing?

A long time ago, when I was in grade school, our teacher told us the reason that many senior citizens have such big noses and ears is that they continue to grow even when the rest of the body has reached its limit. I’d never given it a second thought until a comment made by one of my friends about the size of his professor’s nose reminded me of it. Anybody have any idea if thats true?

Yeah, normally cartilige continues to grow slowly over time. Apparently so does nostril hair, ear hair, and back hair. The basic rule is whatever you don’t want to grow grows.

Michael Jackson’s nose has shrunk. in fact it’s just a weird pointy thing now.
