# Do people date alot?

Its a pretty bad question because there are tons of different environments but overall, do ‘most’ people date regularly (who aren’t married or in a serious relationship), or maybe 3x a year, or what?

Well, last time I was truly single, I’d date anywhere from a few times a month to a couple of times a week if I was sort of seeing someone in particular.

I’m sure you’re going to get a whole range of answers though. I don’t think there is a “right” frequency of dating. Just depends on who you are, and where you are in life.

But you knew that already, didn’t you?

I don’t think there is anything that could possibly be a standard answer. It depends on many variables, including the time in your life, your finances, what you want, etc. During my life I’ve dated infrequently, quite a lot (to the point of it becoming a financial threat), not at all, steadily with one woman for a few months (longer than that and it’s not really dating anymore, IMHO) and been in long term relationships that precluded dating.

When I was dating quite a bit, I really felt like I wasn’t looking for a long term situation, and thus kept it light.

Depends what you’re looking for, pal, but what others are up to is no yardstick for your own life.
