me putting up my pointless ebay whorage? [link broken by moderator] I know some forums can get really arsey about it, seeing it as spamming or needless attention seeking. It’s not exactly the same as ticket touting tho, don’t u think? And why post in a general forum if u dont like attention seeking? Anyway… no1 here has been arsey to me about selling my soul or my dehydrated water but this is one of my favourite forums, so i thought it best just to check… thankyou 🙂 ---

From the Forum Rules (bolding mine): “Do not post spam, including but not limited to **advertisements,** chain letters, pyramid schemes, **solicitations,** or other messages primarily intended to promote a cause, venture, organization, event (except Straight Dope-related events), website, or other entity or activity, whether or not money is involved.” In other words, no. The SDMB does not want to serve as a conduit to help you sell stuff. I’m sure a mod or admin will be in here soon to give the official word. ---

Doesn’t bother me a bit. Violate the rules of the board (for example, by advertising) and you’ll be banned soon. Happens every week. I hardly even notice it any more. ---
