# Do-Re-Mi in other contexts

Doh! - a word I use a lot  
Ray - the guy who did my roof  
Mi - the one who drinks the beer  
Fa - a length I seldom run  
So? - my winning argument  
La - a word I never said  
Ti - a drink I never have

If The Donald sang it:

Dough - that stuff I have a lot of. Thousands and thousands, maybe millions, I don’t know  
Ray - Epps, my favorite person in the whole world, a real patriot  
Mi - because it’s all about me, I’m the most interesting person in the world  
Fa - what Sleepy Joe does a lot of, fa-ling down  
So - who are you going to believe? Me? Or the fake news types?  
La - what everything starts with in Mexico  
Ti - iced, it’s good, they drink it in Real America, but I never drink it, I always drink Diet Coke. The Diet Coke people should be paying me, I drink so much of it. It makes my brain smarter, so much smarter.

The version I’ve always associated with _The Simpsons_ is this:

Doh–a beer, a Mexican beer  
Ray–the guy who sells me beer  
Mi–the guy, who drinks the beer  
Fa–the distance to the stooooore  
So–why don’t you drink a beer  
La–la la la la la laaa  
Ti–have a beer instead  
That will bring us back to do, do, do, do, D’OH!

(I suspect this has no actual _Simpsons_ connection–of course, it’s _Moe_ who sells Homer beer–but may have naturally gotten one given the subject matter and Homer’s common exclamation. On further research, the specific Mexican beer version seems to be a [Hash House Harriers song](https://chicagohash.org/hashing-tools/hash-song-book/down-down-songs/dos-a-beer/).)
